Aptos Labs, a core contributor to the Aptos Layer-1 blockchain, has successfully migrated the EXPO2025 DIGITAL WALLET to the Aptos blockchain, marking a pivotal step in enhancing the wallet’s performance and overall user experience. This strategic move comes ahead of the highly anticipated Expo 2025 in Osaka, which is expected to draw over 28 million visitors between April and October 2025.
The integration with Aptos, known for its high-speed blockchain and robust security features, aims to provide users with a seamless and efficient platform for managing their digital assets. The EXPO2025 DIGITAL WALLET, designed to streamline transactions for Expo attendees, offers a variety of key features. These include MYAKU-PE!, a versatile payment system, MYAKU-PO!, a rewards program, MYAKU-N!, a platform for creating and collecting Expo-exclusive NFTs, and the MYAKU-MYAKU Rewards Program, which provides users with status-based benefits that encourage further engagement.
Since the migration in January 2025, the wallet has experienced remarkable adoption, with 18,000 transactions processed and 2,600 new accounts created on the Aptos network within just 48 hours. By April 21, the wallet had facilitated over 558,000 transactions and attracted more than 133,000 new users, reflecting strong confidence and excitement from the global user base.
Avery Ching, Co-Founder and CEO of Aptos Labs, expressed his enthusiasm for the early success:
“The robust user engagement showcases the growing trust in both the EXPO2025 DIGITAL WALLET and the Aptos ecosystem. This partnership places the wallet at the forefront of blockchain innovation, serving as a bridge to Web3 for millions of users around the world.”
Looking ahead, the team behind the EXPO2025 DIGITAL WALLET plans to further expand its integrations with key local enterprises, including the Japanese National Tourism Organization and the Osaka Restaurant Management Association.
In a significant move to solidify its presence in Japan’s blockchain market, Aptos Labs also announced the acquisition of HashPalette Inc., a subsidiary of HashPort Inc. and the developer of the Palette blockchain. This acquisition is part of Aptos’ strategic initiative to strengthen its foothold in the rapidly growing blockchain ecosystem in Japan, further enhancing its value proposition for users and partners alike.
