OKX Web3 product manager Kyle Chen on March 24 issued an apology to users, acknowledging that he had announced the wallet app’s availability “too early.”
He explained that the app is not yet accessible on some devices and in certain regions.
Despite the clarification, Chen did not specify which regions currently have access to the app or when it would become universally available. He wrote in a translated post, “It may not be available for users in some regions and devices. Please be patient. My colleagues in the marketing department are going to scold me.”
In a previous X post, Chen informed his followers that OKX had launched an independent app for its wallet service, available for download on the Google Play Store. He encouraged users to download it, stating,
“The bull is coming back fast!”
However, he mentioned that the app is unavailable on the Apple App Store.
In a separate post, Chen shared a screenshot of the platform’s interface, revealing that the app would feature a “Token AI Narrative Summary” tool which will provide users with real-time market sentiments, including insights into long and short positions and online discourse from X. He also indicated that more significant features are coming soon.
Chen clarified that these features would not be exclusive to the app, assuring users who cannot download it due to regional restrictions can still access the Token AI Narrative Summary through the website. He encouraged users to click on insights to view AI analysis summaries of popular tokens and invited feedback and suggestions.
Meanwhile, OKX has temporarily suspended its DEX aggregator services following attempted misuse by North Korea’s Lazarus Group, a notorious hacking collective behind the $1.5 billion Bybit hack. In a March 17 statement, the exchange said the decision was made proactively after consulting regulators, citing security concerns over the group’s coordinated efforts to exploit its DeFi services.
