Marina Abramović, the renowned Serbian performance artist, has partnered with digital marketplace TAEX to launch an NFT project called Marina Abramović Element (MAE).
This project, which follows her first web3 venture in 2021, will run from May to September 2025 and feature three NFT drops highlighting her artistic legacy, according to Artnet.
A fictional narrative by Marina Abramović inspires the project and showcases her artistic journey through three NFT drops. The first drop, titled Art, explores symbols and archetypes in her work. The second, Life, focuses on her integration of various locations, gestures, and outfits. The final drop, The Marina Abramović Method, reflects her self-discovery and the foundation of the Marina Abramović Institute in 2023. The NFTs will come in different formats and rarity levels: Ordinary (still images), Rare (looped animations), and Epic (looped animations synced with moon cycles) to enhance exclusivity.
Collectors can obtain Transformational Crystals through games linked to NFT drops. The second drop features the game Maze, and the third introduces Counting Crystals. Those who engage can earn these crystals, which allow them to mint limited-edition 5D MAE Performance and 5D MAE Avatar NFTs. The project will conclude with The Great Mint in November, where participants can mint the MAE token featuring Abramović’s digital avatar. To mint the MAE token, collectors must have specific NFTs: all three Epic NFTs with a Transformation Crystal or three Rare NFTs with a Transformation Crystal.
In a parallel development within the blockchain space, Truemarkets has officially launched. This milestone follows the platform’s successful public Oracle Patron NFT sale in November 2024, which raised over 4 million. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin participated in the sale, minting 400 NFTs. This launch represents a significant step in bridging real-world events with the on-chain ecosystem, solidifying Truemarkets’ position as a major player in the decentralized prediction market space.
