DTCC Joins ERC3643 Association to Advance Tokenization Standards

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has officially joined the ERC3643 Association, reinforcing its commitment to tokenized finance.

Developed by Tokeny, the ERC3643 standard facilitates the issuance, management, and transfer of permissioned tokens. As part of this initiative, DTCC plans to integrate ERC3643 into its ComposerX™ suite, including the ComposerX Factory tokenization engine. This integration aims to improve risk management, data transparency, and market liquidity while reducing operational complexities and costs. It also seeks to accelerate settlement times and expand access to global investment opportunities.

By automating the processing of tokenized securities, DTCC aims to connect real-world assets with a broad network of distributors and market participants utilizing the ERC3643 standard. This collaboration is expected to enhance financial system connectivity, foster innovation, and create new market opportunities.

Notably, DTCC joins 99 other financial institutions and platforms, including Chainlink, Zodia Custody, and Taurus, as members of the ERC3643 Association. The collective goal is to advance adoption of the ERC3643 standard and promote the development of a standardized, secure, and compliant tokenization framework.

Nadine Chakar, Global Head of DTCC Digital Assets, described the partnership as a major milestone in financial infrastructure innovation, stating: “DTCC’s commitment to the open-source ERC3643 token standard aligns perfectly with our vision of creating a more efficient and secure financial market.”

Echoing this sentiment, Luc Falempin, CEO of Tokeny, expressed that DTCC’s involvement would help establish a truly open and interconnected financial ecosystem.

Dennis O’Connell, President of the ERC3643 Association, also highlighted the collaboration as a turning point for tokenization because it is a demonstration of the belief its potential to break down silos and ensure seamless asset movement.
