Polkadot Blockchain Academy has announced the launch of The JAM Course, an educational initiative to introduce top industry developers to Polkadot’s latest technological advancements.
According to a blog post on February 10, the academy revealed that the program is set to begin in December 2025. The course will provide hands-on training in the Join-Accumulate Machine (JAM), a next-generation architectural layer designed to enhance the capabilities of Polkadot.
JAM is positioned as a successor to the relay chain, enabling permissionless code execution, supporting Solidity smart contracts, and integrating roll-up outputs. This advancement allows developers to process computations off-chain before transmitting them to JAM, eliminating the need to choose between building appchains or smart contracts.
The course will provide participants with an in-depth understanding of JAM’s core functions—Refine, Accumulate, and OnTransfer—while covering key tools like the Polkadot Virtual Machine and Polkadot API.
Designed for advanced Web3 developers, The JAM Course builds on the foundation set by the PBA Campus and the JAM Tour, offering an intensive, practical learning experience. The program will feature expert-led tutorials, hands-on coding sessions, and opportunities for direct engagement with the architects behind Polkadot’s most cutting-edge technologies.
Polkadot Blockchain Academy CEO Pauline Cohen Vorms emphasized the transformative potential of JAM, describing the course as a gateway for developers eager to explore the future of blockchain interoperability. She highlighted the academy’s commitment to equipping participants with the technical expertise necessary to drive innovation in the Web3 space.
The JAM Course follows the successful launch of PBA-X, the academy’s four-week introductory program, and continues its mission to prepare developers for the decentralized future. Similarly, Binance Academy partnered with AWS to launch a new course, “AWS Blockchain Node Runners for BNB Chain.” This program targeted developers and blockchain enthusiasts, featuring a 15-minute tutorial on deploying BNB Chain nodes using AWS Node Runners
