Bitwise Asset Management predicts that 2025 will be a landmark year for cryptocurrency companies going public, with at least five “crypto unicorns” expected to launch Initial Public Offerings (IPOs).
In their “10 Crypto Predictions for 2025” report, Bitwise’s Chief Investment Officer, Matt Hougan, and Head of Research, Ryan Rasmussen, have dubbed 2025 the “Year of the Crypto IPO.” driven by rising investor demand, increased institutional interest, and a supportive regulatory environment which they believe will drive a surge in public listings. Potential firms expected to go public include Circle, Kraken, Anchorage Digital, Chainalysis, and Figure.
Bitwise forecasts significant price movements in major cryptocurrencies. They predict Bitcoin could reach $500,000 if the U.S. establishes a strategic Bitcoin reserve, as proposed by Senator Cynthia Lummis. By 2029, they believe Bitcoin will surpass gold’s $18 trillion market cap. Ethereum may rise to $7,000 by 2025, driven by growth in Layer 2 networks and Ether ETFs. Solana’s price is expected to increase to $750, marking a 250% rise from its current value.
Bitwise also estimates U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF inflows will exceed $33.6 billion by the end of 2024, with wealth management firms like Morgan Stanley and Bank of America launching crypto investment products in 2025, enhancing access to digital assets. Additionally, they anticipate the tokenized real-world asset market to grow from $13 billion to $50 billion. The meme coin sector is expected to see heightened activity, spurred by AI-driven promotions, and the stablecoin market is projected to reach $400 billion, backed by favourable regulatory changes in the U.S.
Recently, Bitwise rebranded its European XRP exchange-traded product to the Bitwise Physical XRP ETP (GXRP). CEO Hunter Horsley highlighted the reliability of XRP and its blockchain, the XRP Ledger (XRPL), over the past decade. He expressed enthusiasm for providing investors with an institutional-quality offering through the new GXRP product.
