The Shiba Inu team has generated renewed excitement in the cryptocurrency space with a proposal to establish the Strategic Hub for Innovation in Blockchain (S.H.I.B.) in the United States.
On November 5, Shiba Inu’s lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, announced the initiative in a post on X, emphasizing the goal of positioning the U.S. as a leader in blockchain technology and sustainable development.

Kusama’s proposal includes a detailed budget plan, estimating costs between $1.3 billion and $2.35 billion over the next 5 to 10 years. The project focuses on critical areas such as infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, sustainable practices, economic incentives, talent cultivation, and marketing.
According to the developer, if successful, the initiative could lead to job creation, the emergence of tech-driven startups, and overall economic growth within the blockchain sector.
Kusama invited “presidential candidates or interested parties” to support the ambitious project.
Further amplifying the initiative, prominent Shiba Inu community member “Kaaldhairya” invited high-profile figures, including former U.S. President Donald Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk, to join the cause.
Kaaldhairya described S.H.I.B. as “America’s very own ‘Crypto Valley’—a futuristic hub for jobs, technology, and innovation.”
The proposal comes at a time of increasing interest in memecoins and what utility they can offer. Elon Musk recently endorsed an X post about Dogecoin, which references a fictional “Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E.)” that could optimize U.S. government spending.
Meanwhile, the Shiba Inu ecosystem has undergone significant activity in recent times. The project’s marketing lead recently hinted at an upcoming “strategic upgrade” for Shiboshis—Ethereum-based NFTs within the Shiba Inu ecosystem. This upgrade is set to roll out on Shibarium, the ecosystem Layer 2 blockchain solution. The specific timeline for the upgrade was not disclosed.
