The global crypto ATM market, valued at $87.35 million in 2023, is projected to grow to $2.58 billion by 2032, according to a new report from Research and Markets. This growth is attributed to the rising acceptance of cryptocurrencies and supportive regulatory policies worldwide.

The report highlighted the increasing presence of crypto ATMs in industries such as retail, travel, and financial services. These machines are being installed in high-traffic locations, including malls, convenience stores, and gas stations, providing an easy and accessible way for consumers to buy cryptocurrencies.
Notably, CoinFlip, a leading U.S.-based crypto ATM provider, is expanding its global footprint by entering the Mexican market. The company has already installed over 20 Bitcoin ATMs in Mexico City, strategically placed in busy areas like shopping centres, coffee shops, and bakeries. These ATMs allow users to buy and sell cryptocurrencies using cash, with touchscreens and QR code scanners simplifying the transaction process.
Meanwhile, the report also credits the growing regulatory support for cryptocurrencies as a catalyst for the market’s growth. Governments around the world are increasingly recognizing the potential of digital assets and implementing favourable regulations to encourage their adoption. This regulatory backing is improving the credibility of cryptocurrencies and, thus, driving the expansion of crypto ATMs globally, the analysis claims.
However, some regions remain cautious. The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has taken action against unregistered crypto ATMs due to concerns about security and money laundering. In February 2023, the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) began investigating unregistered crypto ATMs. The regulator insisted that no crypto ATM operators in the UK are registered with them and stressed that all crypto exchange providers must comply with UK money laundering laws.
And a year later, a London man was charged for operating multiple unregistered machines that processed $3.4 million in transactions between 2021 and 2023.
