Bitcoin Depot, a United States-based Bitcoin ATM operator, has announced its retail collaboration with Fareway Stores, a growing grocery store with over 130 locations across the Midwestern United States.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, April 17, Bitcoin Depot disclosed plans to roll out Bitcoin ATMs (BTMs) in more than 66 Fareway stores during the second quarter of the year. These installations will span several states, including Minnesota, Illinois, South Dakota, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Iowa.
Brandon Mintz, the CEO and co-founder of Bitcoin Depot, expressed his excitement about the partnership with the growing grocery store brand and explained that it will bolster the firm’s expansion efforts in 2024. He also noted that it will underscore Bitcoin Depot’s commitment to offering easy and accessible crypto access to new and existing customers.
Mintz highlighted the successful track record of Bitcoin Depot’s technology across its portfolio of retail partners. He expressed confidence the company’s user-centric approach aligns with that of Fareway.
Scott Kinne, VP of Banking, Payments, and Investments at Fareway Stores, echoed Mintz’s sentiments and expressed excitement at the prospect of offering Bitcoin Depot’s BTMs to their customers. He emphasized Fareway’s dedication to enhancing its customers’ shopping experience by introducing innovative services and solutions across its nationwide network of stores.
This development follows another significant move from Bitcoin Depot—its recent foray into foreign markets. The company recently announced that it has a signed partnership agreement with a leading convenience store retailer that will enable it to open 940 new kiosk locations spread across 24 states in Puerto Rico.
Notably, Bitcoin Depot claimed it has achieved its 2024 milestone of deploying 8,000 BTMs across 8,000 locations. This further solidifies its position as a leading player in the Bitcoin ATM industry.
