OKX Ventures, the investment branch of Web3 technology firm OKX, has announced its investment in AlienSwap, a community-driven NFT marketplace and aggregator. The investment will enable AlienSwap to expand its operations and establish itself as a leading NFT marketplace.
According to Dora Yue, the founder of OKX Ventures, the NFT market’s total trading volume reached around $24.7 billion in 2022, making OKX Ventures optimistic about the long-term growth of the NFT sector. And as a result, OKX Ventures has already devised plans for several NFT projects.
Yue expressed the hope that their investment in AlienSwap would help the company become a more efficient NFT marketplace and transform the competitive dynamics of the industry.
AlienSwap has already surpassed $50 million in cumulative trading volume since the release of its beta version two months ago. The platform is currently ranked third in terms of daily active users and fifth in daily trading volume on the Ethereum network.
AlienSwap’s founder, Ying Mu, stated that the investments would help to grow the engineering team of AlienSwap, develop advanced liquidity tools and trading products for NFTs, and further invest in NFT infrastructure to improve the community’s trading experience.
Mu stressed that the core team of AlienSwap and investors have a unified goal of creating a top-tier NFT trading platform within the industry. They aim to inject new energy into the NFT ecosystem via innovative products and community development.
OKX Ventures recently made a strategic investment in Scroll, a fully open-source Rollup platform based on Ethereum Virtual Machine(EVM). The platform aligns with the Venture’s objective of endorsing projects that improve Ethereum’s scalability and offers seamless compatibility with existing Ethereum tools and applications.
DeFi Planet reported that OKX Ventures made the investment in March 2023 and expects the platform to be deployed to the mainnet in the next four months after a period of committed development by the Scroll team.
