Recently, new features have been added to Twitter, while the plug of some old projects has been pulled. One of its recent features is the Tip Jar. This feature allowed some Twitter users to receive funds through the platform, as they could add links to payment platforms like PayPal, Cash App, and so on. The aim was to allow the user’s fans to tip them.
To know if a user can access the Tip Jar functionality, their homepage should possess an icon that they could add links to payment channels, while their fans could see the link and make payments if they wish. Adding this feature in May changed the outlook people had of the microblogging platform.
Developers gave us a sneak peek into the new feature that allowed users to receive tips in Bitcoin and Ethereum through the Tip Jar feature. To buttress this point, Alessandro Paluzzi, a developer, shared a screenshot on Twitter and titled it with, ‘Twitter is working on the ability to receive tips in #Bitcoin.’

Twitter’s Product Lead, Kayvon Beykpour quoted the tweet by Alessandro, then added a lightning bolt emoji to it.
The tweets have left a lot of tongues wagging, wondering when this innovation will be accessible to the public. At the moment, no one can say for certain when this is happening. Twitter and its founder, Jack Dorsey have always shown their support for cryptocurrency, especially Bitcoin, and it is not surprising that the crypto may soon be added to the Tip Jar function.
