Bitget has launched a $10 million “Blockchain4Youth” initiative to support the education and growth of blockchain technology. The project will offer blockchain courses and certifications through Bitget Academy and collaborate with universities globally to hold a series of campus lectures. The lectures will be dedicated to Web3 and begin in May 2023 in Taiwan, Vietnam, and Thailand universities.
Bitget also expressed its desire to work with other leading blockchain companies to support innovative initiatives from aspiring entrepreneurs and organize U30 (Under the age of 30) hackathons to identify the most promising projects. The exchange noted it is also open to collaborating with educators for this innovative initiative.
Bigtet announced the initiative comes after the exchange polled over 250,000 respondents and found that 46% of millennials in major economies such as the United States, China, Japan, Germany, Nigeria, and Indonesia own cryptocurrencies.
In a parallel development, Binance Charity pledged to provide more than 30,000 scholarships by 2023. Since its establishment in 2018, the organization has invested $23 million in 32 social projects related to Web3. About 82,000 applicants applied for acceptance into the upcoming cohort of the project, resulting in an acceptance rate of approximately 37%.
The “Blockchain4Youth” initiative is a step towards achieving Bitget’s vision of building a blockchain-powered future and providing individuals with the resources and knowledge to participate in it. The company believes that blockchain technology has the potential to revolutionize various industries, including finance, healthcare, and supply chain management, and it is committed to driving its mass adoption.
In April 2023, at the Hong Kong Blockchain Week, Bitget announced the launch of the Bitget Web3 Fund with an initial investment of $100 million. The fund aims to invest in promising Web3 projects and venture capital that is Web3-friendly to catalyze the development of the next wave of crypto ventures.
