Netflix, the popular streaming service, has reportedly stated that when it launches its ad-supported subscription package, it will prohibit any advertisements related to cryptocurrencies.
The new subscription tier will be available to the public in November instead of its earlier scheduled launch period of 2023. This change was reportedly made after Disney announced its plans to launch an ad-supported streaming service on December 8.
The ad-supported streaming service is a low-cost option allowing users to watch Netflix shows and advertisements between streaming sessions.
As part of its advertising strategy, Netflix reportedly will not allow cryptocurrency, gambling, or political advertisements to air on the platform.
It is also believed that restrictions on organizations selling items to children, as well as pharmaceutical companies advertising their products, may be imposed.
The ad-supported streaming subscription tier is expected to be available in a few countries first, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Canada, and France, before being made available to the rest of the world.
