Ukraine has received crypto and NFT donations to support its war efforts since the Russian invasion in February.
A CryptoPunk NFT, CryptoPunk # 5364, was one of the NFTs donated to Ukraine in March.
The CryptoPunk NFT collection is rare and valuable, and the donation of the CryptoPunk # 5364 drew attention from different quarters.
Ukraine sold this high-priced NFT for $100,000 to raise funds for the war effort.
This was announced on Twitter by Ukraine’s deputy minister of digital transformation, Alex Bornyakov.
“Breaking news on crypto donations: #CryptoPunk #5364 has been sold for 90 ETH. It’s over $100K. Few months ago this NFT was donated for @_AidForUkraine fund. Crypto community continues to support Ukraine.”
An anonymous buyer paid approximately $100,000 for the donated CryptoPunk NFT, which was 90 ETH at the time of purchase.
Because of the NFT market downturn, the value of this NFT has decreased from its initial appraised value of $260,000 at the time of donation.
Since launching its cryptocurrency donation program, the country has raised hundreds of millions of dollars.
