In a surprising turn of events, Ryoshi, the mysterious creator(s) of DOGE’s rival, i.e. Shiba Inu (SHIB), has taken a page from Satoshi Nakamoto’s book. After deleting all tweets and personal blog postings on Monday, they stepped down from the community.
Ryoshi’s Tweets and Blogs Have Been Removed
Ryoshi, the inventor of SHIB, has deleted all of his tweets and replaced his Twitter profile picture with the image of a moon. They have also taken down posts on the social media site Medium, which suggests that Ryoshi is no longer using social media.
Since the project’s launch in August 2020, Ryoshi’s identity, like that of Bitcoin’s pseudonymous developer Satoshi Nakamoto, has remained a mystery. Ryoshi, like the creators of Dogecoin, Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer, has not been directly involved with the project.
The creator of SHIB has hinted several times that they will eventually leave the community. In a now-deleted Medium post, Ryoshi said:
“I have said from the beginning, I am a nobody, I am not important. The efforts to unmask my ‘identity’ even if successful would be underwhelming. I am just some guy of no consequence tapping at a keyboard and I am replaceable. I am Ryoshi.”
Many SHIBArmy members were perplexed by Ryoshi’s abrupt departure, while others trusted that he would return with good news.
While Ryoshi’s blog currently says “user deactivated or deleted their account,” another account with the same name and display picture has been posting remarks to the community. Some of the texts allude to Ryoshi’s sudden disappearance and the fact that “every Shibarmy is Ryoshi.” “Take the SHIBA and journey upwards frens,” the posters continued.
Shiba Inu Will Continue to Advance
Although what is going on is unclear, SHIB lead developer Shytoshi Kusama wrote an article to address the community’s FUD.
Kusama thinks that Shiba Inu will continue to do well in the future and “fulfill Ryoshi’s vision and goal for this huge experiment.”
“When the learner is ready, the master emerges,” said the developer, quoting an adage. The master vanishes after the learner has learned everything there is to teach. In a nutshell, the creator has now delegated authority to the SHIBArmy.
Ryoshi’s departure has had no impact on the price of SHIB. As of publishing time, the “Dogecoin killer” was trading near $0.0000107 after falling from its all-time high of $0.00008616 in October 2021.
