Cloudflare suffered another outage recently, affecting several major crypto exchanges that depend on it to function.
As a web infrastructure architecture, Cloudflare is used by many websites, including those linked to major crypto exchanges. Its outage crashed numerous websites, including those in the crypto space.
This recent issue has adversely affected several cryptocurrency exchanges, including FTX, CoinMarketCap, Bitfinex, and OKX.
During the Cloudflare outage, the websites of some cryptocurrency platforms went offline, and users were greeted with a “500 Internal Server Error” message.
As a result of the outage, the affected crypto platforms expressed dissatisfaction with the situation on social media.
FTX announced on Twitter that they were affected by Cloudflare’s outage but that users could access their markets in post-only mode.
“Cloudflare is experiencing an outage, and so FTX and many other sites are going to be hard to access for many users. FTX markets are in post-only mode. ”
The CEO of OKX, Jay Hao, disclosed on his Twitter page that OKX was also unavailable during that period.
“In case you’re not able to visit https://www.okx.com/ and “500 Internal Server Error” pops up, it seems to be an issue on # Cloudflare’s end.
Looks like a global internet outage; things should be back to normal soon. ”
He went on to request a Web3 alternative that can be utilized to avoid issues like this.
“Any web3 alternative in the future?”
Though many crypto platforms were affected by Cloudflare’s outage, the notable crypto exchange, Binance, remained unaffected. When asked, the CEO of the crypto exchange, Changpeng Zhao, responded on Twitter.
“Welcome to decentralization. We just have a redundant setup for one of the services many others rely on solely. Lucky.”
