April 14th – Archie Comics has announced the debut of their “Archieverse“ NFT project, which revolves around their spooky “Madam Satan” figure. Archie Comics invites fans to the “Madam Satan” character and to “unlock the universe of Archie Comics to play, create, and be credited on a forthcoming comic book title”.
The publication of the NFT project PFP, inspired by the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, a series published by Archie Comics under the label Archie Horror, will usher in the realm of Archie 3.0. The Archieverse: Eclipse NFT will have 6,666 generative characters costing $66.66 apiece, earning $4.4 million when issued on May 16.
Jesse Goldwater, a creative consultant at Archie Comics and son of CEO Jon Goldwater, told Decrypt, “As people develop their storylines, we’ll be working to publish those with you; You’re going to get creator credits and all sorts of other cool, unique perks and opportunities with it. ”
The Archieverse: The Eclipse Collection will mint their NFTs using Palm. Palm is an Ethereum sidechain scaling solution that enables cheaper and energy-efficient transactions. They were developed in partnership with Palm NFT Studio, which is also responsible for DC Comics’ upcoming release of 200,000 Batman-themed NFTs with different purported advantages.
