Anton Nell, a senior solutions architect at the Fantom Foundation linked to multiple DeFi projects announced that he was leaving the ecosystem alongside Andre Cronje, a notable developer.
The announcement was made on Twitter by Anton Nell with no reason given for this abrupt decision.
With this announcement, some projects linked to Cronje suffered a reduction in value. For instance, Solidly (SOLID) fell by 64.7%.
According to his tweet, Nell stated,
“Andre and I have decided that we are closing the chapter of contributing to the defi/crypto space. There are around ~25 apps and services that we are terminating on 03 April 2022.”
Some of the projects that Nell announced would be unavailable after the quit are Yearn Finance, Keep3r, MultiChain, Chainlist, and bribe.crv.finance. The tweet stated that there were alternatives for them.
“Most notably http://yearn.fi (use http://yearn.finance) http://keep3r.network (use http://thekeep3r.network) http://multichain.xyz (use http://multichain.org) http://chainlist.org (lots of people replacing it) http://solidly.exchange http://bribe.crv.finance”
At the moment, both parties are yet to state the reason behind the drastic decision, except that it was not because they held any hate for the DeFi space.
A Yearn Developer, Bateng, stated,
“People burying YFI, you do realize Andre hasn’t worked on it for over a year? And even if he did, there are 50 full-time people and 140 part-time contributors to back things up.”
