John Legend, a Grammy award-winning musician, is one of the celebrities that have become interested in NFTs. He recently became involved in the launching process of a new NFT art and music platform that is dedicated to both artists and musicians.
The name of the new NFT ecosystem is called OurSong, and it is designed for artists to tokenize their pieces then sell them as NFTs. The features will allow buyers to access exclusive privileges like unreleased arts and music, VIP access, and much more.
According to OurSong NFT platform,
“Everyone can now turn stories, music, photography, and all kinds of art into NFT trading cards called Vibes. Vibes lets you unlock exclusive updates and access private chat communities where you can meet other like-minded people.”
Legend’s role in the organization focuses on creating a buzz around OurSong and attracting users. As the director of impact, he will oversee convincing artists joining the platform, as well as their fanbases.
Bloomberg, during an interview with Legend, announced that he is focused on improving the platform. He believes that the platform will create a haven for people to showcase their creations and interact with others.
“When I think about what I want to do, I try to get involved in projects that I think will make the world more connected.”
Other celebrities attached to the OurSong project are Chris Lin, Kevin Lin, and Matt Cheng. Chris Lin is the co-founder of digital music streaming service KKBOX, and he will be the CEO of the new company. Kevin Lin is the co-founder of a live video streaming platform, while Matt Cheng is the founder of a venture capital firm.
“NFTs holds so much promise in ushering in the next generation of singers, songwriters, photographers, artists, and more,” says Legend in a statement. “I helped found OurSong because I believe NFTs can change the way creators are discovered, improve how they serve their biggest fans, and reshape the industry as a whole. That starts with building a platform that serves all creators, whether they have one hundred fans or one hundred thousand.”
