Twitter has been taken by storm with the introduction of Mr. Goxx, a crypto trading hamster. The hamster has managed to perform better than its human trading counterparts. If the title is not clear enough, Mr. Goxx is a rodent that is streamed on Twitch, making trading decisions. For its Twitter followers, they are intimated in tweets that the trading session has begun. An example of the tweet is, “Mr. Goxx has started a trading session. Join him live”.
It is necessary to note that the creation of the account is to act as a source of entertainment and not an investment firm. The creators have continuously stated this in almost every tweet they put out on Mr. Goxx and Goxx Capital. Usually, most tweets contain disclaimers like below, “DISCLAIMER
This content is for entertainment purposes only. Investments shown here are not financial advice.”
During the day, the tweets incorporate trading decisions like, “Mr. Goxx placed a buy order for 115.0 DOGE at 19.84 EUR
Order: #175″
Usually, the rodent uses his intention wheel to show the trade that he wants. He can decide to buy or sell based on the tunnel it chooses. Immediately he makes a move, a trade is made.
When the name, Mr. Goxx comes to mind, it reminds crypto enthusiasts of the disastrous fall of a once-popular exchange, Mt. Gox, which is quite comical if people take advice from a hamster.
His human partners are from Germany and created it to act as a parody of what is happening in the crypto space. The anonymous owners talked to BBC News,
“We felt that everything keeps getting more expensive these days and building savings is super-hard to achieve with high rents to pay,” they said.
“It seems like most people from our generation see no other chance than throwing a lot of their savings on the crypto market, without having a clue what’s going on there.
“We were joking about whether my hamster would be able to make smarter investment decisions than we humans do.”
