Bybit, in partnership with analytics firm Block Scholes, has released a new report forecasting a dramatic transformation of global finance as the United States moves to institutionalize digital assets through landmark legislation.
At the heart of this analysis lies the GENIUS Act, a sweeping legislative proposal backed by the Trump administration. Trump emphasized the need for rapid action, stating on Truth Social, “Get it to my desk, ASAP — NO DELAYS, NO ADD ONS,” highlighting his intent to sign the bill into law without hesitation. Designed to modernize the U.S. dollar for the digital age, the Act aims to integrate cryptocurrencies—particularly stablecoins and Bitcoin—into the core of U.S. financial policy. By doing so, it seeks to preserve the dollar’s dominance while introducing a framework that encourages innovation without sacrificing regulatory control.

Building on this, the report highlights a parallel initiative: the BITCOIN Act, which proposes the formation of a strategic Bitcoin reserve managed by the U.S. Treasury. If enacted, the Treasury would be required to acquire up to 1 million BTC, starting with 200,000 BTC per year. This unprecedented move, the report notes, would elevate Bitcoin from a speculative asset to a central component of American macroeconomic policy, likely driving significant price appreciation due to long-term institutional accumulation.
Meanwhile, the report places these developments in a broader global context. Countries such as the U.K., South Korea, Pakistan, and members of the European Union are all actively crafting crypto regulatory frameworks in a race to stay relevant in the digital economy. Despite this momentum, the report argues that the U.S. remains uniquely positioned to take the lead, thanks to its regulatory clarity, legislative backing, and economic influence.
Bybit and Block Scholes conclude that 2025 represents a pivotal year—a moment where digital assets are shifting from the fringes of speculation to the forefront of economic policy, with Washington poised to shape the future of global finance.
