WeMade, the gaming and blockchain technology company, has announced ambitious plans for 2025, targeting new genres and markets while expanding its blockchain ecosystem.
In an interview with Maeil Business Newspaper, WeMade CEO Park Kwan-ho described 2025 as a pivotal year for the company, aiming to integrate gaming and blockchain technologies to unlock “new possibilities” in the global market.
Park highlighted blockchain’s strengths, emphasizing its “transparency and data immutability,” which he described as ideal for fostering trust in virtual services. “We will focus on building new social communities in areas where trust is needed by exploiting the inoperability of data,” he stated.
The report highlighted that the company has launched Web3 platforms such as WeMixPlay, a blockchain-based gaming hub, and WePublic, which facilitates creating and managing decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). Additionally, it aims to position WeMixPlay as a global destination for gamers while using WePublic to promote wider adoption of blockchain technology. However, specific details regarding the features of these platforms and their launch timelines are not yet available.
Wemade is enhancing its presence in the blockchain sector by integrating Kroma, Korea’s first Ethereum Layer-2 solution, into the WEMIX3.0 mainnet as “WONDER 4” in July 2024. Kroma, as a Node Council Partner, utilizes Lightscale and ZK proofs to improve transaction speed and reduce gas fees. Introducing protocols such as “WEMIX on Kroma” enables cross-chain staking and connects WEMIX3.0 with Ethereum, strengthening the WEMIX ecosystem and fostering innovation in DeFi.
In a similar development, Immutable has introduced “Pre-Approved Transactions” to enhance gameplay. Announced on November 11, the feature lets players conduct blockchain transactions directly within games, eliminating the need to exit for wallet approvals. This innovation supports seamless item trading, crafting, and integrated marketplaces, mirroring the fluidity of traditional gaming. Immutable aims to improve the player experience by simplifying blockchain interactions while reducing developers’ support burden, enabling a greater focus on creating engaging gameplay.
