Phala Network has launched the first-ever Op-Succinct Layer 2 (L2) rollup on Ethereum, marking a significant breakthrough in blockchain scalability.
This innovative solution, developed in collaboration with Succinct Labs and Conduit, combines Optimistic Rollups with Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZK) to provide faster and more cost-effective scaling for Ethereum. Phala aims to reduce transaction costs by integrating cryptographic proof systems to as low as 0.5 cents, with anticipated further optimizations.
The Op-Succinct rollup tackles significant scalability challenges by providing faster finality and considerably reducing latency compared to traditional Optimistic Rollups. It eliminates the standard seven-day fraud-proof window by utilizing ZK proofs, enhancing efficiency and security. Phala’s transition to Ethereum aims to broaden its trusted execution solutions, granting developers access to cost-effective cryptographic proofs and facilitating the smooth migration of Web2 applications to Web3.
In addition to the rollup launch, Phala has introduced Phala Cloud, a platform that simplifies the deployment of AI-ready applications in secure environments. Phala Cloud offers an easy deployment process with a pay-as-you-go model, access to both CPU and GPU TEE resources, and real-time monitoring tools for developers. This initiative strengthens Phala’s position as a leader in decentralized AI infrastructure, providing enhanced security and privacy for sensitive workloads.

This collaboration follows Phala’s recent alliance with Vana Network, which aims to improve decentralized data privacy and security. By integrating Phala’s Trusted Execution Environment (TEE)-powered solutions with Vana’s user-driven data platform, the partnership ensures secure data ownership and monetization. Vana empowers data creators to retain ownership and derive value from their data while enhancing its data validation and attestation processes through Phala’s infrastructure.
