Japanese investment firm Metaplanet revealed on Monday that it has officially secured an exclusive partnership with BTC Media to introduce Bitcoin Magazine in Japan.
The agreement was initially formalized in a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and announced at the renowned Bitcoin Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, in July 2024.
Slated for launch in the first quarter of 2025, Bitcoin Magazine Japan will offer locally relevant, premium content. The publication will feature exclusive interviews with key figures in Japan’s Bitcoin ecosystem, special edition releases, and interactive online events designed to engage and educate readers.

Metaplanet stated in its announcement.
The firm stated that it has already started recruiting for positions in editorial, content creation, business management, and social media.
Bitcoin Magazine is one of the earliest and most influential publications dedicated to Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. It was established in 2012 by Vitalik Buterin, Mihai Alisie, and others. The magazine is now managed by BTC Media and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee. Earlier this year, Bitcoin Magazine introduced Bitcoin Magazine Pro, a platform offering institutional-grade research and market analysis focused on both Bitcoin and traditional finance. The service provides subscribers with real-time data, advanced charting tools, and additional resources for Bitcoin investment.
Meanwhile, this partnership builds on Metaplanet’s moves in the last six months to adopt a Bitcoin-first strategy. In addition to its acquisition campaign announced in May, the firm established a wholly-owned subsidiary in the British Virgin Islands (BVI), called Metaplanet Capital Limited, to optimize its Bitcoin-related financial strategies. Notably, on November 18, it announced a bond issuance of ¥1.75 billion (approximately $11.7 million) to support its ongoing acquisition campaign.
