Misyon Bank, a leading Turkish neobank, is expanding its services to include virtual asset custody and tokenization through a strategic partnership with Taurus, a Swiss digital asset custody provider.
The collaboration, announced on Tuesday, March 26, via Taurus’ official website, will see Misyon, via its subsidiary MisyonTech, offer digital asset custody and tokenization services to customers utilizing Taurus technologies.
Under this partnership, Misyon will utilize Taurus-PROTECT™ for secure storage custody of virtual assets such as cryptocurrencies, digital currencies, and tokenized assets. Additionally, Misyon will leverage Taurus-CAPITAL™ to facilitate the offering and servicing of tokenized digital assets and Taurus-EXPLORER™ blockchain nodes and indexing infrastructure to bridge both public and permissioned blockchains.
Misyon Bank’s CEO, Dr Önder Halisdemir, reportedly described this collaboration as a strategic move towards advancing Turkish digital assets globally through tokenization. He noted that both local and regional assets will be traded and protected within Turkish borders, thus positioning Türkiye as an international investment hub.
Lamine Brahimi, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Taurus, expressed his excitement for the collaboration and praised the Misyon and Misyontech team. He said they are confident this collaboration will elevate the Türkiye market on the global crypto market ladder.
Taurus Bank is a prominent neobank in Europe. It is renowned for offering its custody services to leading European banks, such as the Spanish bank Banco Santander and worldwide investment giant Credit Suisse.
Misyon’s venture, however, awaits regulatory approval from Turkiye authorities. The nation’s government has recently been receptive to digital asset activities and has pinpointed it as one way to tackle the country’s inflation crisis. Notably, OKX recently obtained approval to establish operations in the country and offer crypto trading services tailored to the local market.
