Mysten Lab’s co-founder, Adeniyi Abiodun, has refuted claims made by Rekt Fencer, a crypto influencer and X DAO developer, about an upcoming Sui token airdrop.
Fencer had suggested on Twitter that Sui’s airdrop could outperform its primary competitor, Aptos, and expected Sui to allocate 20% of its supply to early contributors. He also admonished users to sign up for the project’s recently established ambassador program when minting and staking NFTs to be eligible for the airdrop.
Did you miss out on the Arbitrum airdrop? Don’t worry, you can earn even more with @SuiNetwork.$SUI airdrop has the potential to be the greatest in all of crypto history.
Here’s how you can secure your share of the airdrop 👇🧵 pic.twitter.com/vHi1F3LsFd

However, Abiodun replied to Fencer’s thread and dismissed any Sui airdrop’s existence. He also urged everyone to stop spreading misinformation.
Stop spreading nonsense. There is NO Sui Airdrop. Not planned or ever will be.

Meanwhile, in a Twitter Spaces discussion, Abiodun revealed that he had selected many community members outside the United States to receive discounted access to the Community Access Program. He mentioned that alternative prizes were being planned for Americans, and early contributors who tested the applications and provided feedback would receive user rewards.
Members of the crypto community on Twitter expressed their thoughts; some think the firm should airdrop Sui tokens if they want people to discuss the project.
If you don’t airdrop the community will stop talking about sui, all they will talk about is your bald✅

Others expressed concerns about the dangers of raising money from retail, as many high-calibre projects have launched through Coinlist sales in the past.
Damn Algod is on the path of war
Plenty of high-caliber projects launched through Coinlist sales in the past.
Today I’d be scared shitless raising money from retail. but it looks like Sui is gonna go through Coinlist for initial distribution
